Middle level of ICT Integration

Reflection on PhET Simulation😊😊

Today we learned about the PhET simulation which can be used in teaching science, social studies, and mathematics.

Phet simulation is really helpful as we can do everything virtually in a very easy way. The needed equipment are all provided and you don't need to get scared because of misreading as well as some circuit shock or any other.
You don't need to even handle those corrosive chemicals physically. For safety, PhET simulation is really handy and helpful, especially for young learners.

To open PhET Simulation, first type https://phet.colorado.edu/.

πŸ‘‰You need to click on the simulation to choose the subject.

πŸ‘‰ You can also choose the grade for your simulation

PhET Simulation on States of Matter

Today we did a phET simulation on the construction of AC circuits. It was really helpful and was very safe as sometimes we misplaced batteries which led to shot circuits but luckily it was virtual.
It was so realistic as well as very easy compared to real ones. Here, there is enough equipment for us to work on as well as you just need to drag and connect.

We have to fill this worksheet after playing with the simulation.πŸ‘‡

It is an example of middle-level ICT integration as
πŸ‘‰There is the construction of certain concepts related to the provided information.
πŸ‘‰ Students will have to create the PhEt simulation on the given topic.
πŸ‘‰ Students have limited opportunities to engage in online collaborative activity(Simulation role play software: Q and A session ).πŸ’»

Now, Let me take you to the lesson plan format while integrating PhET simulation( Middle ICT Integration)

Lesson Plan: Sydney Micro lesson

Subject: Science
Topic: States of Matter
Duration: 35 minutes.
Class: 4

 Materials Needed:

- PhET Simulation: States of Matter (available online)

- Laptop/computer or projector for displaying the simulation

- Worksheets for recording observations and answers

Previous Knowledge:

The students already know about different types of matter and know what is PhET simulation.

Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to :

manipulate the PhET simulation to observe changes in states of matter correctly after the activity;

differentiate between the three states of matter (solid, liquid, gas)  correctly concerning  temperature changes;

develop an appreciation for the importance of understanding states of matter in everyday life effectively at the end of the class.

Lesson Introduction (5 minutes):

- Greet the students and briefly discuss the concept of matter.

- Introduce the topic of states of matter and explain that matter can exist in three main states: solid, liquid, and gas.

- Share real-life examples of each state of matter.

Information Input

Activity 1: Exploration of PhET Simulation (20 minutes):

- Demonstrate on how to use the PhEt simulation to the whole class on the states of matter and the effect of temperature on the molecules of each state of matter.

- Divide students into small groups of 5.

- Provide each group with a laptop/computer or access to the simulation on a projector ( # If not visit  ICT Lab ).

- Instruct students to explore the PhET simulation on states of matter and let the students record the below table and let them draw the arrangement of molecules.

Table 1

- Encourage them to interact with the simulation by changing the temperature, observing the behavior of particles, and identifying the different states of matter.

- Circulate around the classroom to assist students and facilitate discussions.

Closure (10 minutes):

- Recap the main concepts learned during the lesson: the three states of matter and the factors that affect changes in states.

- Discuss any questions or observations students had during the activities.

- Emphasize the importance of understanding states of matter in everyday life.

- Assign homework, such as researching examples of each state of matter found in the home or environment.

Assessment:

- Assess students’ understanding through their participation in the activities, their ability to manipulate the simulation, and their responses to questions and experiments.

- Review completed worksheets and observations made during the lesson to gauge individual comprehension.

Concept of Blog

🌸Concept of Blog🌸

A blog is an online platform where individuals or groups regularly publish content, such as articles, images, or videos, on a particular subject or niche. It serves as a digital diary or journal, allowing creators to express their thoughts, share experiences, and engage with their audience more informally and conversationally. Blogs can cover a wide range of topics, including travel, food, fashion, technology, lifestyle, or personal anecdotes, catering to various interests and passions.

One of the key features of a blog is its interactive nature, enabling readers to leave comments, ask questions, and engage in discussions with the author and other visitors. This two-way communication fosters a sense of community and allows for a deeper connection between creators and their audience. Additionally, blogs often incorporate elements of search engine optimization (SEO) to improve visibility and attract more visitors, contributing to their impact and influence in the digital space. 1)

Reflection:

Today we learned about blogs. We learned how to create a blog and to post on a blog.

We learned on the steps

1. First sign in to your email.

2. Type https://www.blogger.com/

3. Sign up for the blog

4. Set name, and adress (URL) , for your Blog and then confirm it

5. You can change theme by clicking on the theme, to customize whichever theme you like

6. Go to settings to fill in the personal details including the profile picture

7. We can post anything while clicking on the new post and new page respectively.

8. You can either publish the writing or just divert it to draft.
